A waste shredder catches fire in recycling facility, in Theddingworth, UK -

An overheated engine in a shredder is thought responsible for Sunday 5th of February blaze at Pebble Hall Farm in Theddingworth, UK. Fire crews were called out at about 6.35am. The site is used as the recycling plant for Harborough District Council where waste from homeowners’ green wheeled bins ends up. An estimated 70 tons of compost near to the shredder had caught fire and the section was isolated and damped down. Firefighters were at the farm for three hours. The shredder – one of two at the site – was worth about £150,000.
