Fatal sofa fire in Drogheda, Ireland - Moneymore estate - 3 deads, 3 injured

A fire started in the livingroom sofa on monday morning, the 16th of March 2009, in Drogeda (Co. Lough), and spread to the rest of the house. Two boys, James McDonagh (8), Tony jnr (16) died along with their brother, 21-year-old Martin. Eddie McDonagh (13), who managed to escape by jumping out a window at the front of the burning house, was critically injured. Four days later, he and his mother Kathleen are still being treated in Dublin hospitals for injuries sustained in the house fire. The father Anthony McDonagh was released from hospital yesterday afternoon.
