Kitchen electric appliances causes house fire, in Preston, UK - 1 injured, 10 persons rehomed

Firefighters were called to Pinfold Street, Callon, at 9.30pm on Saturday the 11th of April 2009. They spent nearly three hours tackling the blaze - started in the kitchen due to an appliance electrical fault. The man suffered a bit of smoke inhalation and was checked out by ambulance paramedics. The fire destroyed the kitchen and upstairs bedroom and caused smoke damage to the property and to next door. The family next door had six children - ranging from three-months-old to teenage - and they had to be rehoused with friends and family."
