A bed ignited by a candle badly damages the house, in Shirley (Solihull), UK - 1 injured

A pensioner was rescued from her burning house. The blaze broke out at 1.30pm on Sunday the 19th of April 2009, in the first floor bedroom of the property in Colebrook Road, Shirley (Solihull), UK. Firefighters arrived after an emergency call and rescued a 67-year-old woman who had inhaled carbon monoxide. The house was severely damaged by the fire. The woman was using a candle to look for something under her bed. She got distracted by the phone and the fire started.
