A faulty light fitting causes huge shops blaze in Fraserburgh, UK - 3 businesses damaged

Three businesses were badly damaged in the massive fire on Tuesday the 7th of April 2009, in Fraseburgh, UK: a hair salon, a book seller and a third building owned by a bank. A fault in a light fitting at the back of the recently-refurbished bookshop caused the fire, which started just after 6pm by. Stores at the back of the 3 businesses were also damaged. Emergency crews battled for 4 hours to control the fire. Power supplies in the area were turned off by Scottish Hydro Electric to stop people being electrocuted as water from fire hoses flooded power supplies. There was fortunately no major human injuries.
