A television catches fire and burns the house down, in Tilgate, UK - No injury

Rose Ellis, 89, fled from her home in Irving Walk, Tilgate, after a short circuit in her television caused a fire on Saturday, the 4th of April 2009, in the afternoon. Two fire engines and an ambulance went to the address at around 1.40pm. Neighbour Paul Wiggett, who attempted to extinguish the fire himself said: "It was quite frightening really. I went into the house, but I couldn't stay in there because of the smoke. You can build a new house, but you can't build a new me." The fire caused severe damage to the property and Mrs Ellis is now staying with a relative.
