TV Set catches fire in pensioner's house in Gorleston, UK - 1 injured

On Thursday the 30th of April 2009 shortly before midday, an alert passer-by may have helped save the life of a 98-year-old man by warning him of a fire at his Gorleston (UK) bungalow, in Bately Avenue. The fire started in his lounge television. Mr Donatz was taken to the James Paget University Hospital to receive treatment for smoke inhalation. The blaze, which devastated the bungalow's lounge and kitchen, left Mr Donatz temporarily homeless. Two fire crews from Yarmouth took 30 minutes to put out the blaze, caused by an electrical fault in the television.
