Fridge as likely cause for home fire in Mold, UK - 3 injured

On Thursday the 16th of April 2009, just before 7.30pm, people escaped by chance with limited injuries when an electrical fault sparked a house fire in Mynydd Isa (Flintshire, UK). Fire and ambulance crews rushed to the scene of the blaze on Flintshire, yesterday, after a freezer caught fire in a bungalow. Fire sparkled in the kitchen. All three victims were treated for smoke inhalation. Chris Notts, county operations manager for Wrexham, said "We believe the fire was caused by an electrical fault, as the freezer was quite old, and we would advise people to check all their electrical appliances regularly to make sure they are working properly." About the victims he said "They are not seriously hurt and they didn't attend hospital."
